The Family Court Report is founded by award-winning multimedia producer Kristin Leong. Kristin has been fighting for safety and justice for her son and herself through the Family Court system for over a decade. With the generous support of a 2023 Creative Capital 'Wild Futures' award, she is currently writing a book and producing a podcast merging her experience as a protective parent with reporting on how America's justice system is failing our most vulnerable children and caregivers due to systemic ignorance and dismissal of domestic violence. She is an international TED-Ed Innovative Educator, an AIR New Voices Scholar, a Slants Foundation 'Countering Hate Award' winner, and a Seattle Mayor's Arts Award nominee. Originally from Honolulu, she now lives in Seattle with her wife, teen son, rescue doodle, and over twenty houseplants.

Jinie is currently an intern with the Washington State Human Rights Commissioner, a council member of the UW College of Arts & Science Dean Advisory Board, and a Citizenship Practice Interviewer for first-generation immigrants with Literacy Source.
